Central Zone nets four gold medals for volleyball

SIBU: The men’s and women’s volleyball teams from the Central Zone won two gold medals each in the third day of Sarawak Games (SUKSAR), achieving their target.

Both squads from the central zone dominated the matches, winning all three sets consecutively.

The women’s squad from the central zone secured victory against the West Zone, which settled for second place with scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-11.

Meanwhile, the third-place position went to the northern zone after overcoming the Southern Zone team.

The men’s team from the central zone claimed the championship by defeating the Northern Zone team with scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-21.

The team manager for both Central Zone squads Datuk Moh Wing Ming, expressed great satisfaction with the achievement, in line with the team’s targets.

“Certainly, we are very pleased. The team underwent intensive training. I also manage the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) team. Therefore, for the upcoming SUKMA, I can identify several athletes that we can incorporate into the team,” he said.
