KUCHING: All hardware stores and shops selling agriculture input and spare parts for agriculture and industrial machinery in Sarawak are allowed to open twice a week during the movement control order (MCO) period.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee deputy chairman Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the shops were allowed to operate on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 am to 7 pm.

The decision was made after taking into consideration the feedback from members of the public, he said at the daily press conference of the committee here today.

Abdul Karim said the agriculture input shops included those selling fertiliser, pesticides and livestock feed.

Meanwhile, he said with immediate effect, foreign nationals travelling by air, sea or land are not allowed to transit through Sarawak during the MCO period.

“All Kuala Lumpur-Sibu- Kuala Lumpur flights are also cancelled until April 14,” he added. – Bernama
