KUCHING: An employee of the Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI) tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
The chamber said the staff was being treated and that it had been carrying out its activities all these whiles according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the relevant authorities.
“It remains unknown where the staff concerned contracted the virus,” it added.
The chamber has instructed all close contacts and other members of staff to go for Covid-19 tests as a precautionary measure.
It sanitised and disinfected its office and the surrounding areas yesterday according to the Ministry of Health (MoH) guidelines.
As an added precaution, the office will be temporarily closed for operation from Tuesday onwards till end of this week unless instructed otherwise by MoH.
The chamber said its entire staff members would undergo self-quarantine at home.
