MIRI: Three traffic police officers came to the aid of an injured changeable hawk-eagle found by the roadside in Permyjaya on Monday (June 27).

The bird of prey was found when the officers were on a routine patrol in the area.

They took it to a nearby vet for treatment. The changeable hawk-eagle was then handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) office here.

It is believed that the bird got injured after being hit by a vehicle while flying low near the ground.

Meanwhile, SFC praised the police officers for their concern and action in a post on Facebook.
