KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas recently visited Rampangi’s Permanent Food Production Park in Santubong to explore its fertigation system.

Clad in a blue-striped buttoned-down shirt, Uggah toured the park showcasing modern high technology used for agricultural production.

Comprising four rock melon farms, the park is equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) facility run by five engineers who are also agropreneurs.

With 6,000 plants, the owner of the park, Fabian Ng Eng Hieng, said the park is set to harvest yellow rock melons soon.

“The harvest will begin from the second week of October until early November. Other crops being planted there are chillies, cucumbers and leafy vegetables,” he said.
