KUCHING: A woman from the Republic of China died in her dormitory at a massage parlour at Mile 3, Commercial centre.

Gao Hong Yan, 36, worked in a massage parlour below her dormitory. Her colleagues said they were chatting as usual before going to bed and there was nothing amiss.

Yesterday morning at 11am, when she did not go to work, her colleagues knocked on her door but there was no response.

They called the supervisor who forced the door open. Gao was found lying in bed, foaming from her mouth.

Her colleagues did not know if she had been suffering from any illnesses. Gao was said to have been here for a few months.

Medics were called from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) who confirmed that Gao has been dead for a few hours.

Her remains were taken to the SGH morgue at 1.30pm for a post-mortem. Police classified the case as sudden death and said initial investigations revealed no foul play.
