Chinese national dies in road crash

The victim is pronounced dead after his vehicle went out of control and crashed into two road signs and an electrical pole along KM10, Kuching-Bau Road.

BAU: A China national died on the spot after his four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle went out of control and crashed along KM10, Kuching-Bau Road last Saturday (Aug 7).

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu who confirmed the case, said the accident happened around 10.35pm when the 35-year-old victim was travelling towards Siniawan from Kuching.

“As the victim arrived at a corner, his vehicle is said to have gone out of control and crashed into two road signs and an electrical pole.

“The victim identified as Li Dan from Jalan Jumbo Susu, Kangkar Pulai in Johor Bahru, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” he said.

Firemen from Bau station were despatched to the scene to assist in extricating the victim from his vehicle. The body was taken to hospital for further action.

Alexson stated that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
