KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice-president Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong urged the Bidayuh community to choose the right leaders in the coming state election.

“Only Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) can safeguard the rights of Bidayuhs as well as the harmony of Sarawakians,” he said at the launch of GPS Zone 4B Balai Tayung Langui, Pichin, Serian, yesterday.

The 12th state election (PRN12), which is expected to be held in 2021 or earlier, will see drastic changes as well as strong challenges from the opposition parties.

Manyin also stressed that the Bidayuh community is a minority, hence it has to work together with other communities to make it stronger.

“We are so fortunate that we have leaders in GPS who are from the various races to guide our community to make us stronger in the party,” he added.

He further assured that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will continue to bring more development to the Bidayuh areas for the benefit of the people.
