Chopper rescue training held in Mulu

MOCSAR and Bomba air unit during the joint training session in Mulu yesterday.

MIRI: The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) air unit and the Mountain Cave Search and Rescue team (MOCSAR) in Mulu yesterday carried out a helicopter rescue training.

Meant to increase its air assets and the department’s ability in providing aid and performing rescue mission, the training session was attended by 11 personnel.

A helicopter, Mi-171 (M994-04), piloted by PgKB I Sofian Ahmed @ Ibrahim and assisted by Co-pilot PgKB II Robert James, was used during the joint trainning session.

Both team — the Bomba air unit and MOCSAR — also collaborated to repair the LP Camp 5 Mulu and share victim management techniques for rescue using helicopters.
