MUKAH: Christians visited the graves of their loved ones on All Souls Day yesterday here to pray and pay their respects.

Short prayers were conducted by Sts Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church rector Rev Father Joseph Sebastian from 7.30am until 5pm which began from Kampung Sau cemetery.

The priest then proceeded to cemeteries at Kampung Teh Sungai and Teh Labak; Kampung Sesok Baru and Sesok Lama; Kampung Tellian Ulu; Kampung Tellian Tengah; Kampung Petanak; Kampung Jebungan; Kampung Kelaup and Bedanga; as well as the Catholic Christian cemetery at Oya Road.

Commemoration of All Souls Day culminated in a prayer service at Sts Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church at 7.30pm yesterday.

A day earlier, a prayer was also held in commemoration of All Saints Day at the same place and time.

All Saints Day and All Souls Day fall on Nov 1 and 2 respectively every year and are among the holy days in the Christian calendar.
