KUCHING: The widow of ASP Michael Padel, Jabah Mingku Voon, yesterday received a generous donation from Sabah Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) through the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The donation was presented by Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Dev Kumar M. M. Sree, accompanied by Bukit Aman Assistant Welfare Managing Director Nor Ashikin Abdul Razak, who represented the Inspector-General of Police.

The late Michael Padel, who was the head of Special Branch Unit at the Semporna District Police Headquarters, was among the victims of Sulu terrorists at Kampung Seri Jaya Simunul, Semporna on March 2, 2013.

Dev revealed that the donation was part of Fama’s charity fund to commemorate the sacrifices made by the national heroes during ‘Ops Daulat’.

“After the incident in Sabah, Fama had launched a charity fund where they collect donations from local farmers’ markets,” he said during the presentation of the donation at Jabah’s residence, here yesterday.

“I hope this would ease any financial burden for Jabah and her family during this haliday season,” he added.

Dev and Jabah both expressed their appreciation for Fama’s contributions and concerns for those affected by ‘Ops Daulat’.

Jabah is currently living with her 17-year-old son, Mcloie Michael and planned to spend their Christmas together without Michael’s presence.
