KUCHING: A total of 100 inmates from the Kuching Blind Centre, Kuching Community Based Rehabilitation, and Cheshire Home here received Christmas goodies, food and drinks from Saberkas Batu Lintang branch during an event held here yesterday.

The event was held at the Sarawak Society for the Blind Recreational Hall at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee.

Presenting the gifts was Unit for Other Religion (Unifor) director Datuk Dr Ngenang Janggu, who represented the State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.

Speaking during the event, Saberkas Batu Lintang chairman Patrick Tan said that this was an ongoing effort by Saberkas Batu Lintang to improve the quality of life of the less fortunate members of the community.

“This is a long-term activity to aid those in need while simultaneously celebrating the multicultural and multiracial members of our community.

“I am pleased to see everyone get together in peace and harmony. We will surely organise an event like this again for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration,” he added.
