KAPIT: The incumbent chairperson of Kapit United Chinese Association (UCA) Women Wing, Chua Bee Hun will continue to lead the body for the 2019/2020 term when she was re-elected during the annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday.
Held at the Kapit Chinese Chamber of Commerce hall, the AGM also elected new committee members.
Chua Bee Hun from Kapit Music Society was first elected as the chairperson of the Women Wing for the 2017/2018 term. Also re-elected was the secretary Liew Mee Kiong from Kapit Kwang Tung Association.
Apart from the chairperson and secretary, others elected were Chua Mei Ai from Chiang Chuan Association as the deputy chairperson, Kong Su Fang of Kwang Tung Association as well as Sia Su Eng of Foochow Association as the vice chairpersons.
Others in the committee are Liew Pei Yiin (assistant secretary), Teng Mui Hua of Kwang Tung Association (treasurer) and Liew Hui Yiin of Kwong Tung Association (assistant treasurer).
Also in the committee are Tiong Leh Kiong of Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Chiang Leh Ching of Foochow Association who are tasked with general affairs; Teo Lim Chu of Chiang Chuan Association and Sng Sui Yian of Chiang Chuan Association (in-charge of children and education); Tan Siau Swan and Teo Siew Geok both of Chiang Chuan Association (in-charge of social welfare) and Kong Siew Kim of Music Society who is in-charge of recreation.
The election was under the close supervision of the Kapit United Chinese Association president, Sng Geok Yian.
In her acceptance speech at the function Chua thanked all members for fully supporting her over the past one year. Teamwork and cooperation as well as mutual support are vital for any organisation to flourish, she said.
