KAPIT: St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church members threw a potluck party for visiting missionary, Father Michael Corcoran who is the General Superior of the World Mill Hill Missionary  on Monday evening.

Father Michael was paying his inaugural visit to the Kapit parish. He was here on a three-day visit to meet the congregation and the priests.

Prior to the gathering, Father Michael  held an  evening mass held at the  church.

The potluck party took place at the old church hall.

In his remarks at the gathering, Father Michael was impressed with the growth of the church since the first missionary set foot in Kapit some 125 years ago in 1882.

He was happy to note that Kapit had a good church and hoped that the church could continue to grow.

He called on the congregation to give their full support to the missionaries who were helping the people.

“Be good to them but don’t spoil them as I want  healthy and fit missionaries” he said in zest.
