KUCHING: Construction works on a multi-purpose hall of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church in Kampung Semeba here is expected to be completed by end of this month.

Chairman of the church’s rebuilding committee Josak Siam said they needed additional funds for the project and had forwarded their request to Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang during his visit to the site yesterday.

“We’re requesting for financial assistance in order to improve the surrounding area of the church’s newly constructed hall, for example the parking lot, lightings and etc.

“Besides that, we also requested for a bigger pipe to be installed to increase the water pressure to 11 premises at Lorong 9D here including the church as we are facing low water pressure problem,” said Josak.

He hoped that the project including the installation of lightings in the hall could be completed by the end of this month.

The RM330,000 double-storey hall was funded by Unit for other Religions (Unifor) with an allocation of RM250,000. Construction work on the hall began on Sept 3, 2018.
