BINTULU: A 10kg pangolin and its baby were handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporate (SFC) Bintulu Regional Office on Tuesday by an individual.

In its Facebook posting, the corporation stated a person purchased the mother pangolin and its baby from a foreigner out of pity, recalling the pangolins’ fate if they were still with the foreigner.

The pangolins were received by SFC and then released back into their natural habitat.

Members of the public who have information on those who capture, hunt, trade or preserve protected and fully protected wildlife can contact the SFC hotline numbers at 019-8859996 (Kuching), 019-8883561 (Sibu), 019-8332737 (Bintulu) or 019- 8290994 (Miri).
