KUCHING:  The Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 is a very meaningful celebration of Sarawak’s diverse culture and unity, which will be held here from today until Sunday.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said it provides an avenue to revive socio-economically and to present the state’s distinctive culture, well-preserved heritage, and colourful festivals vis-à-vis the Sarawakian way of life.

She said the event, themed “Temasya Kepelbagaian Budaya”, showcases Sarawak’s best, diverse and colourful art as well as culture and heritage.

Kuching was selected as host to celebrate its recent designation as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Creative City of Gastronomy.

It was a tribute to its cultural and ethnic diversity that has led to its unique offering of local delicacies which is another accolade for Malaysia’s first City of Unity.

“The protection of visitors is not only a necessary welfare measure but it is also an important one to maintain people’s confidence in resuming economic and social activities albeit the new normal.
