MIRI: The formation of Business Events Consortium of Miri (BECoM) is helping to create more business opportunities both in the state and outside, said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He asserted that it would help transform Sarawak to be a business events destination.

“It is a positive sign that our industries are going in the right direction,” opined Karim during the official formation of BECoM held at a leading hotel here yesterday.

Also present was his assistant Datuk Sebastian Ting.

BECoM aims to catapult Miri as a mighty business events destination.

Up until 2019, the city (Miri) has been the winning destination for major conferences such as the International Multi-conference in Computer Science and Engineering, 2nd Borneo Diabetes Conference, 7th International Conference on Materials Technology and Energy 2019 and more.
