KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is collaborating with Everrise in a ‘You Donate, We Deliver’ donation campaign.

The campaign aims to help the less fortunate families whose livelihoods are affected by the movement control order (MCO).

Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng thanked Everrise for coming up with the campaign and choosing MBKS for the collaboration.

“It is indeed a good effort to give back to the public as we fight the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with Hari Raya and Gawai Dayak around the corner.

“It is also to help the urban poor in areas under MBKS’ jurisdiction,” he said in a press statement yesterday.

The project commenced on April 25, with donation packages available for RM17.90, RM33.90 and RM83.90 respectively for customers to purchase and donate at Everrise Estore.

Members of the public, particularly Everrise customers, can lend a helping hand in providing the less fortunate with the daily essentials at this difficult time.

“The response from the customers is overwhelming as we manage to receive more than 90 donation packages within 10 days.

“There’s nothing more rewarding than giving back and making a difference in the lives of people during this trying time. We are in it together,” Wee said.

The first batch of donations was handed over to MBKS yesterday for further distribution.
