KUCHING: The state recorded zero new Covid-19 case on Wednesday (Sept 16), with the total number of cases remaining at 700 since the last imported case was detected on Sept 9.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said there are two newly recovered and discharged cases, as the Alam Cluster in Bintulu remains active with eight cases.

“The two cases were discharged from Bintulu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

“This brings the number of Covid-19 positive cases that have recovered and discharged to date to 680 or 97.14 percent,” said SDMC in a statement.

The committee revealed that one individual is still receiving treatment at the hospital isolation ward in Sibu Hospital.

It added that 21 new persons-under-investigation (PUIs) were reported while two are currently awaiting laboratory test results.

Twenty-two new persons-under-surveillance (PUSs) have been checked into hotels to undergo quarantine.

This brings the current total number of PUSs at 11 hotels statewide to 699 persons, while 23,969 PUSs had completed their quarantine period.
