SIBU: The Bung Bratak Heritage Association (BBHA) is working closely with Forest Department Sarawak to look after the forests and environment in the Bung Bratak area.

BBHA chairman Datuk Peter Minos on Yesterday (Aug 12) said that this included tree planting and forest rehabilitation, as Bung Bratak is now included in the famous Heart of Borneo (HoB) programmes.

He said BBHA was happy that the Forest Department is doing something and improving things in the Bung Bratak area.

“The Forest Department is using Bung Bratak Heritage Centre (BBHC) as a base to teach and guide the local community leaders on forest protection, rehabilitation.

“So far, the Forest Department had set up a nursery, safe jungle tracks to Bung Bratak’s waterfall and to the summit.

“BBHA deeply appreciates the Forest Dept’s contributions to BBHC thus far.”
