KUCHING: Parti Sedar Rakyat (SEDAR) has expressed intentions to collaborate with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to foster development in Sabah.

SEDAR president, Datuk Othman Abdillah said this partnership aims to replicate Sarawak’s advancements in Sabah, leveraging the progress under the stewardship of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“By working together with GPS and engaging with Premier, Sabah can adopt the strategies that have propelled Sarawak forward,” he said during the 5th Annual General Congress of SEDAR at a hotel here today (Feb 24).

Othman highlighted the willingness of Abang Johari, who also the GPS chairman, to share insights on Sarawak’s developmental strides.

He expressed optimism that Sabah could not only catch up but potentially exceed Sarawak’s development pace by following a similar path.

“The goal for SEDAR Sabah is to transition from being a state lagging behind in development to one that is at the forefront,” he added.

The congress also included administrative activities such as the approval of previous meeting minutes, discussion on various matters, presentation of the annual statement report, and deliberation on resolutions from the Supreme Working Council.
