KUALA LUMPUR: Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin on Thursday acknowledged the importance of why a football club must operate on a philosophy that also shared the same mission and vision of the game’s governing body.

He came to this conclusion after a FAM delegation was enlightened by the philosophy, traditions and principals of Japanese League 1 (J1) leaders, Tokyo FC, and the way the club work hand in hand with its local communities and schools, besides ensuring football development continued to flourish in the metropolis.

“The visit to Tokyo FC exposed us to the importance of a club having its own philosophy to work on, one that is in line with the mission and vision of the governing body. “Tokyo FC have the identity, tradition, founding principals, player development philosophy and a clear DNA to be shared with it’s stakeholders.

This is what FAM’s affiliate members and youth development programmes such as the National Football Development programme should have,” Hamidin was quoted as saying in FAM’s Facebook latest posting on Thursday.
