KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and state leaders continued their busy schedule, visiting local dignitaries yesterday on the second day of Chinese New Year.
Clad in batik, Abang Johari and wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang arrived at Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian’s residence at 10am, joining hundreds of members of the public who were already present at his residence.
The chief minister was greeted upon arrival by Dr Sim and Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) members.
Abang Johari and entourage then proceeded to Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI) president Tan Jit Kee’s open house at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee.
This was followed by a visit to Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) commissioner Datuk Wee Hong Seng’s residence at Jalan Chua Say Chiat.
The entourage chief also attended Federation of Chinese Associations of Kuching, Serian Divisions Richard Wee Liang Chiat’s open house at Jalan Liong Seng.
Abang Johari rounded off his open house visits with a visit to State Security and Enforcement Unit director Datuk Dr Chai Khin Chung at Tabuan Tranquility 2.
Among those accompanying the chief minister were Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youths and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi.
