HONG KONG: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, who is currently leading a state government delegation for a weeklong visit to China yesterday visited the Hong Kong Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to  attend a briefing on Hong Kong’s urban renewal programme. 

The briefing at the Hong Kong URA office provided an interesting insight into the bottom-up urban renewal planning and implementation in the various old parts of Hong Kong to provide better living environment for the people. 

This was followed by an onsite briefing at the Kwun Tong redevelopment area. 

Later, the Chief Minister and members of his delegation proceeded to the Hong Kong Housing Authority head office to attend a briefing on Hong Kong’s public housing programme.
