CM excited to attend Youth Day

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is excited to attend the state-level Youth Day 2020 programme which will be held at Asajaya Sports Complex today.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah informed this to the media after paying a courtesy call on the chief minister at the latter’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

The call was to invite Abang Johari to attend the fun-filled event which includes a parade by the youth group, Youth Kitchen and e-sport competition as well as presentation of the Youth Figure Award and Youth Association Figure Award which will be announced during the event.

“As we are still facing the Covid-19 pandemic, tomorrow’s programme will be implemented according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set and limit the presence to only 1,000 youths who will also be entertained with performances from guest artistes, Faizal Tahir and Hafiz Suip,” said Abdul Karim.

Also present during the courtesy call were Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan, the ministry’s permanent secretary Nancy Jolhi, Samarahan Division Resident Brahim Lumpu and Asajaya district officer Rais Ahmat.
