KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg paid his last respects to the late Dayang Rosnah Abang Madeli, mother of Senior Minister (Infrastructure Cluster) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Abang Johari visited the family this morning (Jan 14) and joined them for funeral prayers prior to the burial ceremony.

Fadillah said his mother was laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Islam, Jalan Samariang at 10.45am later that day.

“My family and I would also like to thank all the nation’s leaders and Malaysians for their condolences to our family and prayers for our beloved mother, whether through social media, WhatsApp or by being at the residence and during the funeral.

“We apologise for having to restrict people from visiting our residence  to comply with the movement control order (MCO) which is currently being enforced.

“We also apologise for not being able to reply to each and every one of your messages,” he said in a Facebook post.

May our beloved mother rest in peace with her Creator and be placed among the pious,” he said in a Facebook post.

Dayang Rosnah passed away at her home in PJ Heights, Petra Jaya here on Wednesday at 6.30pm and is survived by 13 children.

Fadillah, who is also the Petra Jaya Member of Parliament, is the ninth child of the family.
