CM receives two courtesy calls

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received two courtesy calls at his office in Wisma Bapa today morning.  

First to call on him was a delegation from the Al Ghazali Mosque Committee led by the mosque chairman Sumardi Ghazalee.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to invite the Abang Johari to officiate an event at the mosque.  

The delegates also requested for a piece of land to build a hall and a management building for the welfare and the convenience of the community.

Among the delegates who were present were four mosque committee members, Irwan Zurkarnain Hasbie, Ahmed Hassan, Helmi Hipni dan Zamzuri Ghazalee.

The next courtesy call was from the Malaysian Malay Contractors Association Sarawak led by its president Datuk ‘Ismail Suut.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to brief the chief minister on the activities of the association and inform him of its wish to  participate in development projects carried out by the Sarawak government.

When met by reporters, Ismail explained that the association was set up  to fight for the rights of Sarawak Bumiputera contractors and find job opportunities for members as well as help them to become more skilful.

The  delegation was also joined by Senator Dr Zaeidi Suhaili, and  deputy president of the association Abdillah Majid.
