KUCHING: The Covid-19 pandemic is no damper to keep alive the spirit of unity during the festive season for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
This morning (Feb 12), he attended a virtual Chinese New Year open house organised by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) via video conference. Joining him was his wife, Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
In his short address, the chief minister urged the Chinese to preserve unity, stressing it is important for Sarawak to have a good policy to improve its economy thoroughly.
Abang Johari also joined in for the traditional Yee Sang (prosperity) tossing ceremony.
Also attending the virtual celebration were Local Government and Housing Minister and SUPP president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and dignitaries.
