CMS, IEM ink MoU for collaborative relations

KUCHING: Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMS) had on June 30, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Sarawak Branch) (IEM Sarawak) to establish collaborative relations between the two parties in developing a technical interchange through mutual assistance with an impetus on industry-related research in Sarawak.

CMS Group Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Goh Chii Bing, signed the MoU on behalf of CMS while IEM Sarawak was represented by its Chairman, Ir. Haidel Heli, witnessed by Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Development and Transportation, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

Signing of the MoU between CMS and IEM Sarawak is the first step in establishing the collaborative relationship, which includes research, training and exchange of information between the two parties.

IEM Sarawak Chairman, Ir Haidel Heli said: “We are happy to sign the MoU with the CMS and are optimistic that the MoU will create many opportunities in industry-related activities and programmes.”

Commenting on the MoU, Goh Chii Bing said: “Since its inception, CMS has been at the forefront of developing new channels of industry and fostering new talent and technologies to deliver innovation tailored to the evolving needs of Sarawak. We are confident this collaboration will be of mutual benefit for both CMS and IEM Sarawak.”
