KUCHING: H&L Retail Sdn Bhd has joined hands with Hope Place Kuching to help spread Chinese New Year cheer to needy families.

They handed 79 charity bags – each containing two cans of sardines, two packets of noodle and one packet of instant oats. The charity bags were sold for the past two weeks at all H&L outlets.

H&L marketing officer Lianny Bujang described the contribution as a small move to help and support unprivileged families.

“We have seen a lot during our CNY distribution to seven families the other day. That’s why we at H&L took the initiative to further support poor families,” she added.

Bujang said earlier this month, H&L had informed the public through its official social media that the charity bags were available for purchase at all its outlets in Kuching, Siburan, Serian and Kota Samarahan.

“We encourage people to do and feel good, after all CNY is just around the corner and we should remember that there are people out there who need our support and we should support in any way we can.”
