KUCHING: Tunku Putra International School is collaborating with BarkPark to create awareness on responsible pet ownership and love for animals.

According to a statement issued yesterday, BarkPark’s objective is to create sustainability and use discarded materials from junkyards to be upcycled and repurposed.

“For instance, the agility equipment were scraps from junkyards and main gates were old Kuching airport gates.

“The poles surrounded at the terrace were old street lamp posts, the shower stations were old bathtubs which have been placed in the area.”

The idea of BarkPark was birthed in 2018 and the construction of BarkPark took a year and was completed in December 2019.

BarkPark uses recycled parts to create space for animals and dog lovers to enjoy.

A 22 feet by 7 feet barrier wall has been built and students are invited to submit their dog-centric design with a social message

The barrier wall was built to house some strays of risk of being culled and house puppies in transit to adoption.
