MIRI: Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon encourages Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) B40 recipients who have not yet received their free MyFreeView decoders to collect them at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pei Min next Tuesday and Wednesday (November 26 and 27) from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

“Please bring along your identity card for verification purpose,” said Dr Ting.

From November 1, 2019, the analogue TV transmission has been shut down and all television programmes are now digitally transmitted as scheduled in the last two to three years.

“Households with analogue television will need a TV decoder to watch these channels,” he said.

The transition will allow viewers to receive clearer pictures and more channels.

The viewers will be able to watch as many as 16 digital channels compared to only a few analogue channels.

Dr Ting further stated that all qualified BSH recipients who required the MyFreeView Decoders provided by Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in Miri and Subis, including Batu Niah could attend the MCMC/MyTV distribution ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Pei Min to collect the decoders without charge.
