KUCHING: In conjunction with its ‘Program Jejari Murni’, the Kuching Community College Student Representative Committee (JPP) on Tuesday (Nov 23) distributed 250 fabric face masks to the Society for the Blind Malaysia (Sarawak branch), Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and SGH Blood Bank.

The face masks were handed over by the director of the college, Suharyati Sulaiman to Transfusion Physician Dr Wong Yi Sen, representing the SGH Blood Bank, Mary Belare (representing SGH) and Society for the Blind Malaysia (Sarawak branch) chairman Isak Ngau (representing the association).

The director of the programme, Khuzaimah Arshad, who is also the JPP vice-president, said ‘Program Jejari Murni’ is a corporate social responsibility activity organised by JPP in collaboration with the Student Development Unit whereby all the face masks were sewn by the students themselves.

“Twenty-five students and alumni were involved in the making of the face masks, and it took two days,” she said.

She added that the programme, which was held for the first time by JPP, is aimed at fostering a caring spirit while encouraging student involvement in community activities.
