i-CATS Student Representative Committee give donations to residents of Lepong Gerang Longhouse, Sungai Sayat.

KUCHING: Fire victims of Lepong Gerang Longhouse at Sungai Sayat have received assistance from International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) Students Representative Committee (JPP).

Twelve i-CATS committee members, led by its president Christine Annatasha James Jaol had recently visited the fire victims.

According to Christine, a total of 15 boxes of clothes were collected during the 14 days campaign that was held from Aug 8 to 21.

“The visit was to give support and present the donations from i-CATS’ staff and the public.

“Through this charity, we hope it will be able to ease the burden of the residents,” she said.

The Lepong Sayat Longhouse of 26 doors and occupied by 137 people was destroyed in a fire on July 15.

The team was greeted by Tuai Rumah Lepong who expressed his gratitude for the concern and efforts made by the committee.

Also present at the event was Martin John Madden, lecturer and advisor to the JPP.
