College launches Semarak Merdeka programme

KUCHING: Kuching Community College (KKKg), in collaboration with KKKg Sports and Recreation Club, launched the KKKg Semarak Merdeka programme in conjunction with the National Day celebration.

The ceremony held today was officiated at by its director Suharyati Sulaiman.

With the theme of “Malaysia Prihatin”, KKKg also organised several activities, including National Quiz, National Poster Competition, Instagram Merdeka Photography Competition, Merdeka Pastry Short Course, Malaysia Prihatin ArtMask Programme and Sayangi Jalur Gemilang Programme.

The closing ceremony is expected to be held on Oct 2.

According to Suharyati, the theme described Malaysians working together in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The KKKg staff also indirectly joined hands with all Malaysians in combating the spread of  Covid-19 at this college with fence signs, in line with the theme of National Day which is #KKKgPrihatin.”

At the same event, the Sports and Recreation Club also celebrated staff who will be transferring, namely Zuriah Kunggi, who is moving to Sarawak Chemistry Department; Siti Nadia Muhammad Samsuddin, who will go to Sultan Idris Shah Polytechnic, and Nur Izzah Abdul Kadir, who will go to Baling Community College.

In addition, the club also gave compassionate contribution to a member who recently lost her mother, namely Elfy Fariza Sharkawi.

The club subsequently donated gifts to other members who had a new baby, namely Nur Azri@Anis Misban and Mohamad Shahir Naim Abd  Latif.

Also present were KKKg deputy director (management) Mohamad Azrin Ramli, deputy director (academic) Nurul Dafiqah Kamarulzaman and KKKg Sports and Recreation Club chairman Mohd Sani Azizan.
