MIRI: A collision between two vehicles near Ladang 3 Jalan Pan Borneo on Friday has resulted in the death of one motorist.
The collision involved a four-wheel-drive (4WD) driven by a 38 year-old woman and a Proton Saga car.
The lady driver of the 4WD was unharmed in the 6.30am incident, said Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu.
“The deceased identified as Metin Jimbai, 47, who was driving the Proton Saga car, was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Niah Health Clinic,” he added.
He said police received a report on the incident around 6.30am.
Investigation at the scene revealed that prior to the crash, the Proton Saga was heading towards Ladang 3 direction before it suddenly skidded and collided with the 4WD on the opposite lane.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
