Meanwhile, Sibu UOB manager Donald Fu Ping Yung said the bank would set up a booth during the event to introduce various products such as ladies account, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia that offers breast cancer coverage. “A clown will also be present to make the event more lively for the children.”

Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, who was also present, said Sibu folk were lucky because Sibu had been chosen by the Sarawak government as host for the Sarawak Day celebration for the first time.

“I also hope that there will be more private corporates emulating Sri Minyak and UOB in organising more activities.”
