KUCHING: The Miri’s Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) is calling for members of the public to donate blood.

This is during their donation drive which will be held starting March 5 at Pustaka Miri’s foyer from 9.00am to 12.30pm.

The programme is organised in collaboration with Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) Miri division and Miri Hospital’s Blood Bank

Pustaka corporate management officer Shirley Szebah Mambai said the programme aims to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood to save lives.

“Organising blood donation campaign is not only a noble practice, it can also foster social responsibility by encouraging people to donate blood.

“This is as well as instilling the spirit of volunteerism,” she said in a statement today.

She said blood donors will be given snacks and gifts as a token of appreciation for their support.

She added, various interesting activities will be organised in conjunction with the campaign, such as exhibitions and quizzes.

Pustaka membership registration counters as well as sales of books published by the libray at special prices and that those registering on the day itself will be given a souvenir.

“Therefore, do not miss this golden opportunity to participate in the activities held throughout the programme. Do come with friends and family to enliven the atmosphere of this campaign,” she added.
