Committee to raise security issues in Parliament

KUCHING: The Pilihan Khas Keselamatan committee will cooperate with the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs in looking at security issues in the country.

Committee chairman Datuk Johari Abdul who is also Sungai Petani MP said this during a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (Aug 8).

“This visit is very fruitful as we are able to hear on the state’s security issues from the Premier himself. The issues raised will surely be brought to the Parliament later on,” he said.

He disclosed that one of the national security issues raised was the monitoring of the border between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Also present during the visit was Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
