SRI AMAN: The Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC) will implement the Surveillance on Disease Study in Community programme in June this year.

Set in the Simanggang constituency, this programme will involve medical professionals from the Sri Aman Division Health Office, who will engage in health screenings and interviews with villagers.

The preparation for this programme was highlighted by a visit today (Mar 18) led by Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who also the Simanggang assemblyman, aimed to scout potential locations for the study’s implementation.

Harden was accompanied by SIDC chief executive officer Dr. Ivan Yap Kok Seng and his staff at Rumah Bair in Kampung Sebangkoi, Ulu Undop Sri Aman, as well as the Ulu Paku Community Hall.

Additionally, the delegation made a visit to the Batu Lintang Health Clinic. There, they met with Dr Firdaus Hakimi, a medical officer, and Herbert Horida, an assistant medical officer. The purpose of this visit was to evaluate the clinic’s facilities for their potential use in the programme.
