MUKAH: A community leader here hopes that new prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Cabinet will manage the Covid-19 pandemic effectively and bring the economy to a quicker recovery.
Temenggong Hendi Suhai said this was also the hope of all Malaysians now for a swift return to normality.
“The pandemic has resulted in adverse effects on the country’s economy and the lives of many people.
“I, like all other Malaysians, hope to see the pandemic end soon, and the economy recovers soonest,” he said on Tuesday (Aug 24).
The former teacher also hoped that social problems caused by the pandemic would be managed effectively as well.
“I hope that racial unity and religious tolerance will always prevail, while the people’s welfare be taken care of properly.
“I would like to see the new federal government administer the country with sincerity, high integrity and transparency, while advocating a people- and environment-friendly concept.”
