MUKAH: The sale of hamper must comply with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair’s (KPDNHEP) standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The ministry’s Mukah branch chief Salihin Den said each hamper must have a list of items in it together with the price.

He added the items in the hamper must have at least six months before expiry date at the time of sale.

“The sale of hampers is under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011, and also Trade Description Act (APD) 2011 as well as Consumers Protection Act (APP) 1999,” he said at the handover of duty ceremony at the ministry’s office here on Tuesday (Feb 9).

Rosi Likom, who was the caretaker of the branch deputy chief post, handed over the duty to Mohamad Rizal Sehe. He succeeded Moss Baok who had been transferred to Miri last year.

Meanwhile, to a question on the current shortage of small red onions here, Salihin revealed that for Sarawak, there was no supply from India so far, only from Thailand.
