PADAWAN: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) and other government agencies will enforce all directives and regulations decided in a special meeting by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
Batu Kitang assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang told reporters this after the handing over of food aid donations at SJK (C) Chung Hua 10th Mile here on Sunday (July 26).
Because of the spike in Covid-19 cases in Kuching lately, he urged the public to adhere to all the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
He reminded Sarawakians to wear face masks always, wash their hands regularly and practise high personal hygiene and social distancing.
“Many people do not seem to wear face masks in public places and do not practise social distancing, especially in restaurants and coffeeshops.
“People need to be vigilant and if the situation worsens, all residents will be in trouble,” said Lo, who is also the chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
He urged those in areas that did not record any Covid-19 cases to continue keeping the areas free of the virus.
