KUCHING: The residents in Kota Samarahan are urged to observe Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the upcoming festive season.
Its MP Rubiah Wang said it is crucial that the guidelines issued by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) are being practised in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases.
“While the period of Aidilfitri celebration was shortened from seven days to three days, all residents must receive it with an open heart.
“This is because the decision was made for the benefit of all with the resurgence of the Covid-19 spread in Sarawak,” she said during a visit to Kampung Tanjung Parang, Samarahan on Friday.
The visit was part of the MP’s ‘Ziarah Ramadan’ programme which is now in its eighth series.
Upon arrival, she was greeted and welcomed by Kampung Tanjung Parang village head Saftuyah Jaal and the Women wing of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjung Parang sub-branch.
During the visit she, along with the PBB Women wing, distributed a total of 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk to the villagers.
