Mayor Adam Yii is checking at a record book of a premise while doing the rounds at Pelital Commercial centre.

MIRI: Some eateries in this district are barely complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the current recovery movement control order (RMCO), revealed Miri mayor Adam Yii after conducting a round of inspections on Saturday.

Concerned, Yii, urged premises owners to continue comply with the SOPs for everyone’s safety.

“We do not want to have a second wave of Covid-19 as the disease is still here. Businesses are permitted to operate during the RMCO because the government wants to kick-start our economy,” he said.

He further explained that the requirement for each premises to record their customers’ details such as their names, contact number, and body temperature is to enable the authorities to trace them in case there are incidences of positive Covid-19 cases.

“Please keep a good record of your customers,” Yii reminded premises owners.

He stressed that the requirements must be done before customers enter their premises.

“A customer with a high body temperature should not be allowed to enter as a precaution measure,” he said.

He reminded premises owners and the public to not let their guard down even though during the RMCO as resurgence in cases is still possible.
