KUCHING: Police have issued 41 compounds to individuals in the state on Friday for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said the police will continue to enforce the SOPs, including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.

“Miri recorded the most compounds issued with 22, followed by Mukah with five compounds.

“Four compounds issued in Sibu; three in Padawan; two each in Kuching and Kota Samarahan; and one each in Betong, Sarikei, and Bau,” the statement read.

On SOP compliance, the patrol teams have inspected 1,822 premises throughout Sarawak.

They are restaurants (398), supermarkets (199), banks (112), places of worship (109), public markets (80), government offices (62), leisure places (53), hawker stalls (43), construction sites (22), factories (12) and others (732).

The committee also informed that 1,217 vehicles have been inspected in six Ops Benteng roadblocks in Lundu (two) and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
