Compounds for five errant individuals

KUCHING: Police issued five compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Sarikei recorded the highest with three compounds, followed by two in Kota Samarahan.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 811 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.

On the SOPs compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,335 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 281 restaurants, supermarkets (180), banks (93), places of worship (50), public markets (62), leisure places (36), government offices (32), hawker stalls (56), construction sites (14), factories (12), and others (519).

Under Ops Benteng, a total of 1,597 vehicles were inspected through seven roadblocks in six districts — two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
