Compounds issued to patrons of errant entertainment premises

KUCHING: Four foreigners were among 10 individuals compounded for flouting Covid-19 conditional movement control (MCO) order standard operating procedures (SOPs), on Wednesday.

Kuching district acting police chief Supt Merbin Lisa said today, an enforcement team found an entertainment premises in Jalan Wan Alwi here operating beyond stipulated hours.

“The premises has a business licence issued by the local authority. Inspection of the premises found customers inside, and compounds were issued for operating beyond the allowed time.

“They were then brought to Kuching police headquarters for further action and were reminded that the compound must be paid at the Kuching district health office within 14 days for locals while the foreigners were detained for documentation review and then referred to the prosecution office for indictment in court in the near future.”

Supt Merbin said those compounded were six locals, namely a man and five women aged between 24 and 45, while the foreigners were a man and three women aged between 36 and 43.
