MIRI: Work on the covered reinforced concrete drainage system at SJKC Chung Hua Tudan is ongoing and expected to be completed on June 30 this year.

The  project costs RM250,000.00. The drain will allow rain water to flow to a nearby river.

“The project is 95 percent completed and is about two months ahead of schedule,” revealed Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Tuesday after visiting the site.

“Construction work commenced on February 1 this year,” added Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman.

Prior to the construction, several requests were made by the school board members and parents previously as the previous big open earth drain was dangerous to the school’s pupils.

The project under Lee’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP 2020) is carried out by the Public Works Department, Miri Division.

During the visit on Tuesday, Lee was accompanied by Assistant Divisional Engineer of Miri, Stephen Ung Neng Hui and his JKR team.
